The most beautiful beach I have ever set foot on, breathtaking, wish I could have stayed more than a day.

I agree - Whitehaven beach is just beautiful and such a unique experience. I loved snorkelling off the beach.

My first visit to Whitehaven Beach was in 1946 and I can remember quite clearly the experience. My Uncle had a 30 foot fishing boat and we had a family tour of the Whitsunday Islands. Yes, the sand squeaks under your feet, the water is clear, and I remember my Mother finding a natural glass stone when we walked up the rocks then looked down into a sea gorge. Impressive beauty and a great memory maker.

That amazing pure white sand and crystal clear water. I was at the lookout prior to sailing around to beach, didn't have my reading glasses to see controls on digital camera - so pointed and clicked in the right direction and hoped for the best. Those pictures are postcard material - a view so good even a half blind person can take a good picture.

Whenever I need to summon up a perfect image to meditate I imagine days spent at the Hill Inlet end of Whitehaven beach. The white soft sand and the clear water as the tide comes in with the green of the trees and blue of the water is spectacular. An experience that stays with you long after the visit.

We have travelled to the Caribbean, the Bahamas and the South Pacific Isles but Whitehaven is the most spectacular. The soft ,powdery sand was an absolute delight to feel under your feet and combined with the clear, blue ,warm water made for a "Heaven on Earth' experience.

One of the best beaches in the world if not the best and makes the perfect day trip to the Whitsundies.
