How do you describe to someone the finest, whitest, purest sand that feels like powder through your toes? How do you conjure up an image of the most exquisite bay, coated in flawless water and umpteen shades of pale blue?
Whitehaven Beach is known all over the world for its unwavering beauty. Float dreamily over seven kilometres of silica sand beach, swim with the fish, lie in the diamond-studded sunshine and watch the boats bob cheerfully at anchor. A seamless blue sky stretches above you and you are totally seduced by the beach’s beauty.
Whitehaven can be experienced in several ways. Ferries and luxury cruising yachts depart from Airlie Beach daily. A variety of sailing companies also offer multi-day charters that include a memorable visit to Whitehaven Beach in addition to stops to the outer Great Barrier Reef. Seaplanes and helicopters also visit the area offering stunning views from the sky.
Getting there:
Tours to Whitehaven Beach can be taken from Airlie Beach or several of the Whitsunday islands. Airlie Beach is located 1115km north of Brisbane and accessed by air, rail and road.

Whithaven beach is unspoilt perfection. None of the hype of the Gold Coast, just beautiful white sand, so white you need your sunglasses to look at it. My husband and I went there on our honeymoon, snorkled and just relaxed on a quiet beach. It is great not to have thousands of people screaming all around you. You can sit, look at the blue waters and just listen to the world around you. It is a must do because there is no other beach like it. You can even see the sand from the moon!!!

Whitehaven is the most beautiful beach in Australia. To look at is heavan, the sand feels so soft under your feet & it is relatively remote & unspoiled. Take the time to take a look.

I used to think the Gold Coast had the best beaches until I visited Whitehaven Beach. Absolutely beautiful! White sand that goes for miles. Water that is just the right temperature. Perfect....didn't want to leave.
