EXTREME fun, but not for the light hearted!

"Forward paddle, harder, harder, harder, go, go, go" urges your guide. But then "get down, get down, get down". He sees fate. White water pounds down on your head, over the top of you, in from the sides and devours any sign of your presence on its raging white radar.
This is the rush of the rapids on Australia’s most famous one-day white water rafting experience. In the remote World Heritage Rainforest, the Tully River winds through dramatic gorges, rushing waterfalls and untouched ancient rainforest. Along its twisting, scenic path, 45 churning Grade 4 rapids need to be conquered on your day out stacked with white water action and adventure.
You don’t even need any prior experience to raft. You are in good hands. All your river guides have intimate knowledge of every bend, curve and drop of the river and the rapids, (that happen to come in bracing, quick succession!). Roll with the splashes of one furious drop, only to hear and be faced with the rumblings of another.
Rafting trips are available on the Tully River all year round. You need to be 13years or older to raft.
Getting there:
The Tully River rafting adventures begin on the river, 2hrs south of Cairns. Companies will normally supply transfers from Cairns, Port Douglas, Northern Beaches and Mission Beach. Cairns is easily accessed by road, rail and air.
By train:
Catch The Sunlander or Tilt Train to Tully. To book your rail adventure call Traveltrain Holidays on 1800 627 655.

I went with Raging Thunder and had an amazing time, I'd never been rafting before but after the 3rd rapid our guide had us paddling like pros (he was very easy on the eye as well)

I would put white water rafting on a par with sky diving - it must be done just to be able to say you've done it, but unlike sky diving I can afford to do it again and again!

Great fun. I'll be heading back to do it again with a bunch of mates.
