Very educational. I've done tours in Bundy and here and well worth the time out.

Mackay produces one third of Australia’s sugar and from July to November the mills purr into action during sugar cane crushing season.
Farleigh Sugar Mill, 10minutes north of Mackay city, opens its doors to show you during a two hour guided tour the process of turning cane into sugar and molasses within a working mill.
Getting there:
Farleigh Sugar Mill is situated in the small township of Farleigh, 10mins north of Mackay. Mackay is easily accessed by road, rail and air.
By train:

It was interesting to see how the sugar cane ends up as sugar. Friendly and knowlegable staff

I worked in a sugar mill many years ago and this tour brought back many memories although things have changed a lot.
