Take in a show at the Empire Theatre

Get there by train Get there by road Accommodation

Long, thin, shafts of light fall softly against an original 1911 brick wall, illuminating the long history of the beautifully restored Toowoomba Empire Theatre.

This art deco styled building has a new heartbeat after renovations were completed to mirror the way things were back in the theatre’s glory days. After years of neglect, the grand old lady was plucked from cinematic obscurity and transformed into a thoroughly modern performing arts theatre, reclaiming her place as Toowoomba’s cultural hub.

Book a ticket to one of the many visiting shows and performances and feel the atmosphere of this impressive venue. As the curtain is drawn, the stage comes to life under a grand proscenium arch giving a delightful ambience and important sense of occasion.

Great to see a show in a real theatre palace -not some multi-plex concrete box - It just adds to the experience of the performance and lets you forget the 21st century for a few enjoyable hours
