A good place to visit - plenty to see and experience

Wind down your window and throw away your normal city roads and suburban worries. Fraser Island will teach you all about wide open pristine spaces, unspoilt beauty, lush rainforests, stunning freshwater lakes and the exhilaration of driving on sand, not monotonous bitumen.
The world’s largest sand island is a haven for adventure. Explore in your own 4WD or take a tour bus or even a H3 Hummer. Tackle the inland bumps and humps through towering satinay trees, abundant forest and picturesque sand dunes. Enjoy an invigorating swim in the emerald waters of Lake Wabby where Hammerstone Sandblow forms a wall of sand at its base. Lake Mackenzie shines sapphire blue, blessed with shores of snow-white sand.
On the quiet side of the island, blend seamlessly with nature at the award winning eco resort, Kingfisher Bay Resort and village. They offer a range of accommodation, restaurants, tours and activities. On the eastern side of the island, 4WD enthusiasts, fishermen and families enjoy campsites with rolling surf views and endless kilometres of sand highway.
Shipwrecks and sheltered bays flash by your window but be sure to stop and enjoy the view. Climb Indian Head and gaze down upon schools of fish, sharks, dolphins, rays and turtles, enjoying their own sea safari. They are probably having just as much fun as you.

Going to Fraser Island was the best day out that me and my husband had had in a very long time. We loved every minute from the time we got picked up by 4wd bus, the ferry over, the delicious lunch we had at Happy Valley, and the swim in Lake Mckenzie

A wonderful experience, but just make sure you check the tides so you don't have to spend an unexpected night there ;)

I've travelled the world and every time I come to Fraser I find something new to marvel at (and photograph!) - from the lunar-like sand dunes in Rainbow Gorge to the gorgeous turtles at Lake Allom and everything in between. Simply magic.

I was lucky enough to be there many years ago when they discovered an old aboriginal dug out canoe in Lake McKenzie. It was wonderful to see and overall Frazer Island is an amazing place.

My wife and I have lived, worked and played on Fraser Island. We also book tours in our camping shop. We think Fraser Island is one of the most beutiful places on earth and enjoy booking people on tours, so they have the privelege of seeing what we all take forgranted. What a wounderful place we have in our own back yard.

Until you've camped on the beach at Fraser Island, you just haven't lived at all.
