Take a scenic Flight over Heart Reef

Getting there:
Seaplanes and helicopters can collect you from Airlie Beach, along the coast or from an island for scenic flights over the reef. Airlie Beach is located 1115km north of Brisbane.
By train:

I flew over Heart Reef in a small plane and got sooooooooooooo airsick! But it was an amazing, unforgettable sight. I plan to go back - but in a helicopter next time!

We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a helicopter trip and one can only appreciate the unbelievable beauty of the Great Barrier Reef from the air. There is NOTHING in the world to compare with this. Made for a special day with special memories.

This would be a must do trip for valentines day or a marraige proposal, and in a seaplane you could scoot down for a snorkel...dream on!

My wife talked me into a helicopter joy flight recently over the reef. I, somewhat reluctantly, went and it ended up being a truly magnificent experience being able to view nature's finest from up above!!
