Swim with the Sharks at Seaworld

Get there by train Get there by road Accommodation

If just the sight of a dorsal fin protruding from the water gives you goose bumps, you should try jumping into a tank full of razor sharp teeth, enormous rays and colourful fish. Shark Bay at Sea World on the Gold Coast is the world's largest man-made lagoon system for sharks and houses some of the most awe-inspiring of the species.

Dive or snorkel at Reef Lagoon to come eye-to-eye with sharks such as the whitetip and blacktip reef sharks, leopard and shovelnose sharks. You will also meet with a maori wrasse, red emperor and many colourful reef fish. To learn more about the inhabitants just follow the innovative underwater education signage trail.

For the ultimate Shark Encounter with some potentially dangerous species such as tiger sharks, dusky whalers and bull whalers, enter an acrylic cage for an exhilarating shark feeding session to witness the power of shark jaws and teeth from a much closer perspective.

But of course - the closer you get, the more you learn.

Getting there:

Sea World is located at Sea World Drive, Main Beach, Gold Coast, easily accessed by road, rail and air.

Further information:

Wet suit and diving and snorkel equipment are supplied. Programs generally allow 20-30mins in the water. Bookings are essential as numbers on each dive are limited. Age limits apply.

Get up close to the sharks her at Sea World. Sea World is one of the great picks of all the theme parks to learn about ocean wildlife as well as have a fun day for everyone. Just dont let the sharks eat you too much.

I'm not much of a swimmer, think I'll be happy to watch from the sideline!

This is the best themepark in Queensland. The facilities, cleanliness and wonderful wildlife make it the most enjoyable of themeparks.

As a diver I must admit wobbegongs and portjacksons can make me sweat bullets underwater so diving with sharks at seaworld would help alleviate fear by being able to observe long time residents up close - a must do.
