See the Gold Coast from the clouds in a vintage Tiger Moth

Get there by train Get there by road Accommodation

You are in an open cockpit bi-plane with nothing between you and the Gold Coast skyline except the wind blowing through your hair. You are wearing your authentic leather "biggles helmet" and trying to be nostalgic, putting yourself back to those days of romance and excitement, when suddenly the pilot throws in a barrel role and your daydreaming goes out the window.

You certainly won’t feel old fashioned when you take a joy ride in a Tiger Moth vintage aircraft, which first flew in 1931. The thrill rides are packed with heart stopping aerobatics that loop-the-loop you over the Gold Coast beaches and nearby Stradbroke Island. If you don’t seek such thrills but want to experience the exhilaration of an open cockpit, jump into the front seat on a scenic flight that will take in dramatic viewpoints of hinterland rainforest and beach.

Dressed in a flight jacket, helmet and goggles, you can still pretend you’re the Red Barron.

26 Jan - my brother's 60th birthday ! A Tiger Moth joy flight (with all the trimmings) was our birthday present to him --- all he could say after the flight was "that was F A N T A S T I C" Yes, he really yelled it out. Thanks Tiger Moth flights - my turn next!

Seeing the Gold Coast from an "open cockpit" followed by the feeling of experiencing how graceful and aerobatic these birds are in a dive while staring through the propeller at the ground rushing toward me only to be caught in the lift of the 4 wings as they catch air again is just something can't really be described but something wonderful i doubt i'll ever forget but will probably always find so hard to describe the experience to those that have never flown in a Tiger Moth.
