Ride the Big 6 Thrill Rides at Dreamworld

Get there by train Get there by road Accommodation

If you think Africa’s Big 5 are daunting, sink your teeth into Dreamworld’s Big 6 - unless of course you think you’ve bitten off more than you can chew.

Winch your way upwards 120 metres on the Giant Drop, only to be left hanging there, knuckles white and fear mounting. Suddenly all jaws drop as you’re plummeted to earth, freefalling 39 storeys in five seconds.

Go head to head with the G-forces on one of the world’s fastest rides, the Tower of Terror, or pretend you’re a motor racer on the Motocoaster, a fluid track with changes in elevation and high-speed corners, reaching just over 72km per hour. The Claw is the most powerful pendulum on the planet while the Wipeout spins, twists and tumbles you through a body-wrenching range of dumping breaker waves. If you are still up for more, be blown away by The Cyclone, one of the tallest, high-speed gravity rollercoasters in the Southern Hemisphere.

You might need some big breaths but you will relish the highs as you face your fears on Dreamworld’s Big 6.

Getting there:

Dreamworld Parkway, Coomera, 20mins north of Surfers Paradise and 40mins south of Brisbane. The Gold Coast is easily accessed by rail, road or air.

I have an inner ear problem so I am the one minding the bags while the others get to enjoy the thrill rides. The really good thing about Dreamworld is you can have a really good day out anyway with plenty to see and do in the rest of the park.

Have had many happy years of visting this park. Take a trip away from the everyday, take a Dreamworld one day holiday. Take two days, soak up the rays, go to Dreamworld and Whitewater World these holidays!

I went to Dreamworld over 20 years ago. I'd love to go again and see how much it has changed.
