With the Brisbane Gallery of Modern Art’s success for drawing international exhibitions into its impressive 6000sqm exhibition space, a visit to this arts precinct is getting more and more exciting.

Nestled together with the huge State Library and older Queensland Art Gallery, GoMA (as it is commonly referred to) has a strong focus on modern and contemporary cultures with growing collections of contemporary Australian, Indigenous Australian, Asian, Pacific and international art.

Having recently hosted back-to-back exhibitions of two of the greatest artists of the 20th Century, it is proving to be a Gallery envied by many. To keep up-to-date with events at the Gallery subscribe to “artmail”, a free online e-bulletin.

Also committed to helping children engage with art, GoMA offers vibrant exhibitions, brilliant activities and artist-run workshops for children that will have them wanting to return for more, day after day.

This would be one of my most favorite places to frequent.I've taken visitors from 10 to 84 years and they've all enjoy this.It not only offers a great art experience with an area for interaction for parents and children alike, but there's a great cafe/restaurant.

An inspiring building, right on the river. I have been to several exhibitions and have been awed by the ambiance of the gallery and the artworks exhibited there.
