The South Burnett is Australia's Tuscany. Make sure you stay in one of the oh so romantic B&Bs

Lush green vineyards trail over the undulating green hills of the South Burnett, punctuated by fields of cows and horses. It’s a pretty landscape that has grown into one of Queensland’s leading wine regions featuring perfect grapes and some punchy winning wines.
With its warm summer days, crisp cool nights and fertile soils, the South Burnett’s wine growing haven stretches from Goomeri in the north, through the Murgon region to the Bunya Mountains, Kingaroy and south to Nanango.
Along the South Burnett Food and Wine trail you can sip wine at quaint cellar doors with sweeping valley views, indulge in the freshest of gourmet food and draw in the invigorating country air. With over thirteen cellar doors in the region there is a wide variety of experiences for you to explore at your leisure or on one of the daily wine tours that operate to the region.
Getting there:
The South Burnett region is located two and a half hours drive north west of Brisbane.
By train:
Catch The Sunlander or Tilt Train to Caboolture, Nambour or Cooroy. Or catch the Tilt Train to Landsborough. The South Burnett Food and Wine Trail is approximately two hour's drive from each of these stations. To book your rail adventure call Traveltrain Holidays on 1800 627 655.
Further information:
Many of the cellar doors are open seven days a week.

This is a beautiful area of Queensland, very accessible from the south east corner for a relaxing getaway. Time in the Bunya Mountains is highly recommended!

With plenty of great accommodation along the way take you time and enjoy not only the great wines and foods in the area but also the wonderful scenery of the Bunya mountains.

This was a really enjoyable experience! We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the wines and the friendliness of the people "behind the counter". A few dozen bottles of a variety of types were bought to savour! Delicious meals were eaten at the Booie Distillery and Dusty Hill Winery(Moffatdale), but best of all was Moffatdale Ridge Winery, run by Jason and Sue Kinsella, who would have to be the friendliest people in the area - terrific views, great food and wine, good conversation!
