Coral Coast Scenic Drives

Get there by train Get there by road Accommodation

Winding through narrow country roads, undulating hills of tall green sugarcane wave freely in the breeze. Merging with the Coral Coast beaches, open fields of green change quickly to a deep blue sea.

Known as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, the Coral Coast boasts 140km of golden sand, fresh salt air, secluded bays, gentle surf and pretty rock pools. Take a drive through laid-back beachside villages such as Moore Park, Burnett Heads and Bargara to enjoy the gentleness of the ocean. Grab some fish and chips and sit by the sea then continue your journey down the coast visiting popular spots such as Innes Park, Coral Cove, Elliott Heads and Woodgate Beach.

Swing a golf club on a hillside overlooking the sea, waves crashing spectacularly on the rocks below, or stop for a swim at one of the many pristine coves and beaches.

Getting there:

Bundaberg and the Coral Coast is approximately four hours drive north from Brisbane. Bundaberg can be easily accessed by Tilt Train

By train:

We've booked in again to stay by the sea, Where there are lots of wonderful things to see and to do. To walk along beaches and splash in the sea, Take pictures of pelicans, ‘roos, and emus. Then relax on the verandah with a drink or two To watch the sun set and the moon to rise. We’re very lucky to have such a prize!

An underutilised beautiful spot in Qld. I remember sitting on the jetty north of Bundy catching fish with my dad. Lovely, peaceful spot.

The highlight of my trip here was watching the marine turtle as they came to lay their eggs at night, while the biologists thoroughly counted each one.

As a previous local to this area, it's amazing to see how much it has developed in such a short space of time.
