Come to Toowoomba with all the joys of spring for the Carnival of Flowers held annually in September. This big country town always promises to dish up everything from food and flowers, wine and watering cans, to music and mulch.
Your visit should start in Queens Park Gardens, the showpiece of the city, smelling as sweet as daisies and awash with a colourful carpet of tulips, pansies, poppies, sweet peas and every other brightly scented bloom you can think of. During festivities this park is transformed into vibrant celebrations of gourmet regional cuisine, boutique wines, floral artistry and activities.
By night, join in twilight tours of the gardens, pictures in the park and enjoy a huge line-up of musical entertainment. Topped off with a lively street parade, you need to plant the seed in your diary now to be in Toowoomba in September.

I've been every couple of years to see the "Garden City", and love it every time. The effort that has gone it to making the gardens flourish is remarkable.
